Butte College Baseball Honored With National and Regional Recognition

The Butte College Baseball Program has been honored with regional and national level awards for the 2021 season. Among those named is Roadrunner Head Coach, Anthony Ferro, who has been recognized nationally by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA/AETC) as Coach of the Year.

The ABCA/Rawlings National Players of the Year and Coaches of the Year were chosen by the ABCA All-America committees in each respective division. There are nine divisions, NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division and high school. The ABCA/Rawlings First-Team All-American selections are eligible for Player of the Year honors. Coaches of the Year were selected by members of the ABCA All-America and Coach of the Year Committees. 

Ferro was awarded Coach of the Year for the Pacific Association Division after guiding Butte College to the Golden Valley Conference title. The Roadrunners season finished with a record of 23-3, with the team ranked number two in the state, according to final rankings listed by the California Community College Sports Information Association.

Butte College Baseball players Grady Morgan, Bryce Armstrong, Logan Meyers, and Isaac Shuck also received attention at the national, state, and regional levels, with Morgan earning the ABCA/Rawlings Position Player of the Year. Armstrong and Meyers were honored as All-State pitcher and utility player, respectively. Isaac Shuck, a freshman, earned All-NorCal honors.
